DESIGN

Project-Specific

Upgrade the lighting. Keep the infrastructure.

Replacing an existing street-lighting network does not always mean replacing everything. Where existing poles and foundations remain suitable, DEL can engineer a solar retrofit around the infrastructure already in place — reducing unnecessary demolition, trenching, cabling and civil work.

We review the existing poles, road geometry, lighting requirements and local solar conditions before selecting the appropriate luminaire, solar module, battery and mounting configuration. The result is a project-specific upgrade designed to move existing street lighting to solar with less disruption and lower infrastructure cost.

Who this is for
1

Municipalities upgrading existing street-lighting networks to solar.

2

EPC contractors working on road rehabilitation and lighting retrofit projects.

3

Projects where existing poles and foundations are still suitable for reuse.

4

Sites where trenching, cabling or grid extension would add significant cost and disruption.

Before you ask

Still unsure? Send your project details and an engineer will answer directly — usually the same working day.

Q1
Can we reuse our existing street light poles?

In many projects, yes. We review the pole height, diameter, top or arm structure and mounting interface to determine the appropriate retrofit configuration. Final suitability remains subject to the existing pole condition and structural requirements.

Q2
What information do you need to design a retrofit solution?

Typically, we need pole dimensions, pole spacing, road width, existing luminaire details, site photos, required lighting levels and the project location for solar-resource assessment.

Q3
Can you verify the lighting performance before we order?

Yes. For qualified projects, DIALux calculations can be used to verify illumination, uniformity, pole spacing and the proposed optical configuration before the final system is confirmed.

Q4
Does DEL provide installation at the project site?

No. DEL provides the retrofit system, mounting solution, drawings, technical documentation and remote technical support. Physical installation is carried out by your local contractor or project team.
