Project Case Study

Urban Access Road Solar Lighting in Ghana

Solar street lighting for urban access roads in Ghana, featuring roadside market stalls, small buildings and solar poles along busy district connections.

Project Brief

This urban access road solar lighting project in Ghana specifies 684 sets of DEL-DS10-120 All-in-Two Solar Street Lights for a district connecting route. The surrounding streetscape includes roadside market stalls, small buildings, vegetation and sandy shoulders, with vehicles accessing nearby commercial areas. Separate-panel solar streetlights are planned along both road edges, using 9 m poles at 30 m intervals. The proposed layout addresses nighttime visibility along the 10 m roadway while accommodating roadside trading activities and local traffic movement.

The DEL-DS10-120 All-in-Two Solar Street Light is specified for Ghana’s urban access road lighting scheme. Its separately mounted solar panels and LED luminaires accommodate roadside installations beside market stalls and uneven shoulders. The 120 W LED, 250 Wp monocrystalline solar panel and 1536 Wh LiFePO4 battery support the proposed 9 m mounting height and 30 m spacing. An MPPT controller manages charging, while scheduled dimming adjusts nighttime power consumption.
