Lighting Up Iraq’s Mountain Roads with Solar Power
Project Background: A regional authority in Iraq wanted to enhance safety on a winding mountain road frequently used by both commuters and transport vehicles. Grid extension was too expensive due to the rocky terrain, so solar lighting was chosen as a cost-effective and independent solution.
Technical Hurdles: The project site posed unique challenges: narrow curves, elevation changes, and exposure to dust and heat. The lights needed to deliver stable brightness with long autonomy to ensure safety even during consecutive cloudy days.
Our Solution: DEL ILLUMINATION supplied 530 units of the DEL-DS6-100 all-in-two solar street lights. The separated solar panels allowed optimal positioning to capture maximum sunlight despite the road’s changing orientations. Our German design team prepared layout simulations to guarantee safe illumination on curves, while our Chinese production team ensured durable manufacturing and reliable delivery.
