Lighting Up Colombia’s Community Roads with Solar Power
Project Background: A community in Colombia sought to enhance safety and accessibility on local roads that connect residential areas with nearby public facilities. Extending the power grid was too costly and disruptive, so the community committee opted for solar lighting as a cost-effective, sustainable alternative.
Technical Hurdles: The project required steady illumination along roads lined with trees and green areas, with reliable performance during the country’s frequent rainy seasons. Ensuring sufficient brightness for both pedestrians and vehicles was a priority.
Our Solution: DEL ILLUMINATION supplied 95 units of the DEL-DS6-120 all-in-two solar street lights. The separated solar panels allowed flexible orientation for better charging in partially shaded spots. Our German engineering team ran Dialux simulations to optimize pole spacing and uniformity, while our Chinese manufacturing team guaranteed strict quality control and competitive pricing.
